Reiki Sessions
Many people don’t know what to expect during a Reiki session. Here are some of the most commonly asked questions that I receive, and my answers. If I missed any, please let me know.
Will I need to undress for my Reiki session?
Not at all. You will want to take off your shoes maybe a belt or tie plus any restrictive or uncomfortable jewelry. Reiki is shared by a gentle laying-on of hands, no pressure, no manipulation; therefore, the client has no need to remove clothing. You need to simply do which will make you comfortable for the hour or so you will be relaxing on the Reiki table.
Will I be covered during the session?
Yes, should you choose to be. Most people will start to feel a chill as their body relaxes. I have a sheet and a light blanket for your comfort.
What should I do during the Reiki treatment?
Let’s see… rest, relax, rejuvenate, let the stress seep away! During our initial discussion, we may come up with an affirmation for you to focus on. You may talk if you want. You may fall asleep if you want.
What will the session feel like?
During the session, I place my hands in a series of approximately 11 positions down the front and back of your body and hold them there from one to several minutes each. You may feel sensations of tingling, warmth, coolness, or sometimes even nothing at all. This is simply the energy transfer. I feel these sensations as well.
What parts of my body are treated in the session?
The series of Reiki hand positions covers all of the major organs and systems of the body. The head, heart, trunk, legs and feet are treated. We discuss (and I have a large poster that shows) the hand positions before the session, and I will not touch any place that a client is uncomfortable with.
How long will the session last?
A typical session lasts about an hour. If it is your first session, we’ll allow 10-15 more minutes to complete and discuss the intake form. I also schedule 30-minute and 90-minute sessions.
What is the treatment room like?
The treatment room is in a professional office setting at both locations, with a massage table and comfy chairs.

I accept cash, checks, and Pay Pal. At The Edmund Center, I am able to accept credit card payments.
How much do you charge?
Most Reiki sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes. Our first session will be scheduled for 90 minutes so that we have time to talk, but the actual time on the table and charge will be for 60 minutes.
