About Me
Welcome!
I am so glad you found my little home on the web. Settle in, grab some tea (I am in the South, you know), and enjoy.
I am an educator, Reiki healer/teacher, and writer; three interconnected themes that run throughout my day-to-day life and throughout this website.
I teach preschool that mostly follows the “Progressive Education” philosophy. It is discovery- and play-based learning. We, as educators, provide the opportunities for the children to make their own discoveries about how the world works. My child attended this preschool for two years before graduating to kindergarten (to a wonderful school that also puts the child first). While he was a student, I tweaked my own parenting and communication techniques. This education style actually provided a framework and structure for what I was instinctively thinking and feeling in how I wanted to parent and how I wanted my child to be educated, but didn’t know the words or techniques to express it. I observed classes, spoke with the teachers, attended parent education events, read books and handouts, and incorporated this philosophy into my lifestyle. Now I teach at the same preschool and serve as the same resource for other parents. Look for a “Progressive” Parenting and Education topic with nuggets of information I’ve gleaned from the preschool.
Reiki is an energy healing technique that originated in Japan. It promotes self-healing through deep relaxation. It is not massage, but a gentle laying on of hands and the transfer of the healing energy of the universe through the practitioner to the client. It heals on an emotional, physical and/or spiritual level, depending. I teach Reiki and also provide Reiki healing sessions.
I love to write about Reiki, obviously, plus metaphysics, holistic stuff, book reviews, spirituality, and how it has affected me or how I can share what I’ve learned with you. Don’t forget living simply and naturally and positive parenting. I love to learn and I love to share what I’ve learned. Get me started on a topic I’m passionate about, and I won’t stop. Now, I don’t have to. I can put it all here.
I hope you enjoy this eclectic collection.

A note about book reviews: The book reviews have also been published on Novelspot unless otherwise noted. They may also appear on Amazon.com.
A note about the Natural Parenting Articles: The ten Natural Parenting articles were originally ghostwritten for a writing services website to be sold as a web content bundle. My bundle was one of fifteen or so. That project was cancelled and the rights to the articles reverted to me, so I’ve posted them here for your enjoyment. I mention this because there may be instances where these articles, or derivations since the purchasers could do with them as they pleased, may show up on the Internet. Please do not copy/paste or use them as your own. Contact me.
